Maybelline - Unstoppable Eyeliner (Onyx)

I've been on the hunt looking for the ultimate smudge proof eyeliner. I hate it when I would constantly worry about getting raccoon eyes...it makes me look so conceited always checking myself out on my phone or on the car reflections =$. I just don't want to scare the bejeepers out of people....

Ratings:

Pigmentation: I got the colour onyx which is a dark opaque black.

Packaging: Okay, I was disappointed because at first it came presharpen, but after one time use it became dull. It's really hard to create a thin line. Another thing is that I tried sharpening it but the product broke off! A huge chunk of the product was gone and got stuck in the sharpener. Do not sharpen this product !!

Staying power: It doesn't smudge a lot if you set it with black eyeshadow, but it smudges a little bit when you don't set it with black eyeshadow.

Texture: Glides on smoothly without any tugging.

Usage: Of course because after the point broke off you cannot create a sharp and precise line,so I use this liner to tight line my waterline and it works fairly well.

Additional information: It's kind of hard to remove the liner off the eyes... or maybe it's because my make-up remover sucks!

Maybelline - Define-A-Lash

Yet another review hurrah ! Ha... I picked this mascara because of the pink packaging. This is in 'very black.' Some things it claims to do:
  - Zero clumps
  - Clean definition
  - Voluptuous volume
The cool thing about this mascara is that there is a wiper contour brush to remove excess formula, ensuring zero clumps on lashes.

I have the short sparse eyelashes so there's nothing to really curl.. or maybe my eyelash curler is bad lol.

Ratings:

Ability to hold curl: It does not hold curled lashes,but that doesn't mean the lashes go back to stick straight just very minimal curl.

Colour: Very black.

Clumps: Lives up to the claims; indeed, no clumps.

Lengthening: It individually lengthen each lash.

Volume: Fairly voluminzing.


Additional information: This is probably one of the few mascara that doesn't smells! The wand is very flexible/ bendy. The only thing I don't like about this mascara is that the wand is designed very strangely. What I mean by that is that it seems that the middle part of the wan curves in too much so it's hard to get the product onto your lashes. So, in the end you have to take time to clean up the excess product that may get onto your eyelids. Check out the below pictures and maybe you will get what I am trying to get at.

Makeup Wish List - February 2012

I usually don't spend a lot on make-up because 1) I don't wear a lot of make-up 2) Make-up is very expensive. I do enjoy reading reviews and looking at make-up online. 

Urban Decay Mariposa Palette (limited edition) - $ 47 cad

I like fact that the majority of the shades are nude colours, but deep purple, magenta sheen,  and dark teal are included to add a nice pop of colour. I swatched these at Sephora and they are really pigmented !

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (limited edition: professional size) - $ 36 cad

I've never tried the primer potion despite the raves about this product. I will definitely try it out once I'm done using my shadow insurance primer.

Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color (Lovechild and Apocalypse) - $ 23 cad

Highly pigmented and creamy. Seen many lip swatches of Lovechild and it looks awesome on everyone ! I wonder what the darker colour (Apocalypse) would look like on the lips?

Relvon Photoready Perfecting Primer (001) - $11.99 ~ 13.99 cad  

I hate it when I apply my foundation and it highlights the dryness of my skin. Hopefully this product will not do that. I read the reviews which were almost all raves.
